Aluminium Tradesman Canopy

This project is the manufacture of an aluminium tradesman canopy. Priority is always strength. Therefore the canopies 40mm main-frame, reinforced doors, and 25mm sub-frame certainly cover this requirement. Aluminium TIG welding used for most of the canopy, as well as Aluminium MIG welding carried out on the frames. The canopy was finnished with a marine paint system. TIG welding is the same process that we use on all of the aluminium toolboxes we make.

After the welding stage was complete. An industrial & marine paint system used. A bare metal filler was applied on any surface imperfections, and sanded smooth to 80 grit. “Wattyl Macropoxy 250” high build undercoat, then followed by a topcoat using the “Wattyl Polu-400” paint. The colour used is Flat Black.

Quality UES hardware installed, that included compression locks, gas struts and also extruded “Centaflex” continuous hinges. Future improvements will include Aluminium Toolboxes to each side of the wheel arches.
